Roberta Benner Scott

Roberta Benner Scott, age 73, of Plain City, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 11, 2024. She was born on December 15,1950 to Robert Benner II and Charlotte Forbes.

She was a former graduate of Jonathan Alder High School in Plain City, where her love for sports began. She excelled at softball, which led her to coach for Fairbanks High School in Milford Center, Ohio. She continued her love for sports into her profession, working for Columbus Recreation and Parks until her retirement. She was the most devoted New York Yankees fan, and her favorite day of the year was baseball’s Opening Day! Roberta also had an unwavering love for music, most importantly Elvis Presley, and some of her favorite stories included her trips to Graceland to see The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. 

She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and she was arguably their biggest cheerleader. From volleyball games to football games and soccer tournaments, she was always supportive and encouraged them to do their very best! Roberta was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive mother and grandmother. She could always be found on the sidelines, in the stands, on live video stream, or wherever her family needed Mom/ Nonna to be.

Her family and friends will remember her for her determination, grit, and deep love for those around her. She wore her heart on her sleeve. We will be eternally grateful for all the love and support she has shown us over the years, and she will be forever missed by all. 

Roberta will reunite with her loved ones in heaven including her parents, Robert Benner II & Charlotte Forbes, and her brother, Robert Benner III.

Her memory lives on through her children Kimberly (Clint) Hayes, Joshua (Stephanie) Headings, & Kristin (Jimmie) Loy; grandchildren Ava & Breckin Francis, Alisandra, Annalise, & Adriana Hayes, and Teagin & Kember Loy.

Family and friends are welcome to gather with us at Tidd Funeral Home in Plain City on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 11am-1pm followed by a burial at Forest Grove Cemetery in Plain City. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, Kobacker House, or the ALS Association in Roberta’s memory.
