Robert E. Buehler

Robert E. Buehler, age 89, of Dublin, Ohio, died Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Norwich Springs Memory Care in Hilliard, Ohio.  Born in Syracuse, New York to the late Charles and Mary Buehler, Bob was a graduate of Assumption Academy, Class of 1949.  He attended Le Moyne College and graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.  Bob was an engineer for 20 years with North American Aviation and taught calculus at Franklin University for several years.  In 1972 he co-founded Lair’s Hallmark which grew into a chain of five stores in Northwest Columbus and is still family owned today.  Bob was an avid sports fan who enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, hiking and traveling. One of his greatest joys was entertaining friends and family around his pool.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Rita Buehler, Beatrice Buehler and Charles “Bud” Buehler, Jr. and Bud's wife Virginia.  Bob is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of nearly 67 years, Lorraine, children Joanie (Scott) Schoenfeld, Gary Buehler, Michael (Jeri) Buehler and Bob Buehler, grandchildren Karen (Ryan) Crossley, Lauren (Ted) Elech, Dan (Molly) Schoenfeld, Josh (Lisa) Buehler, Jake (Julia) Buehler, Brett (Alexandra) Buehler and Stephanie (Rob) Zmorowski, nine great-grandchildren, sister Judith Buehler, sister-in-law Isabel Taglione and many other loving relatives and friends.  

Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. next FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2022 at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. with Father Timothy Lynch, Celebrant.  Private family entombment will be observed at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
