Pansy E. Sparks

Pansy E. Sparks, age 99, a native of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Walnut Crossing Care Center in Marysville, Ohio. Born in Hamlin, WV to the late Ernest C. and Cora (Salmons) Reynolds, she came to Columbus on December 1, 1941. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving husband Walter J. Sparks, sister Samantha Swingle, brothers James Reynolds, Albert Reynolds and William Reynolds, her grandsons Kevin and Keith Brown, granddaughter Hope Martin, son-in-law Jim Carver. Survived by her sister Annabelle Adkins, her children: Ronald (Margaret) Sparks, Rebecca (Gary) Brown, Nancy (Danny) Phillips, Wilma (Jim Donohoe) Sparks, Patricia (Roger) Penwell and Roberta (Tim) Martin; grandchildren: Ramona Brown, Cody Phillips, Jacqueline (Robb) Hill, Cory (Jessica) Penwell, Audrey (Tyler) Cooper, Andrew (Ashley) Martin, Karly (Nick) McKean; great-grandchildren: Derek Nicol, Deven Nicol, Brayden Phillips, Alivea Phillips, Lydia Hill, Evelynn Hill, Noah Martin, Elliot Martin, Hudson Penwell, Reed Penwell, Theo Penwell, Beckham Cooper, Bishop Cooper, Ronan McKean; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Reynolds and Marjorie Reynolds, and their families. Pansy was a Godly Mother who had a passion for gardening and tending her flowers. She loved canning during the summer and quilt-making in the winter. Pansy and her sisters sang together at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Hamlin, WV, and called themselves “The Reynolds Trio” from Cowhide, WV. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She claimed that they were like gold. She was active in the Hilliard Senior Citizens and enjoyed working at the Scioto Crest Nursing Home.
