Michael Rankin

Michael “Mike” Terry Rankin, 72, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, August 18, at his home in Plain City.

Funeral service will be held 12:00PM on Tuesday, August 23 with cremation to follow at Tidd Funeral Home, 9720 S.R. 161, Plain City.  A life-long friend, Pastor Frank “Bud” Mulford of Christian Life Church will be officiating. 

Mike was born on August 23, 1949 at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, OH to Barbara and Mickey Rankin.  He graduated from Hilliard High School in 1967. Michael successfully ran his own business for many years, working in the tile and marble setting trades. 

He was an avid outdoorsman and took many fishing and hunting trips with family and friends. Mike lived his life in central Ohio and enjoyed watching his beloved Buckeyes.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara and father, Mickey. He is survived by brother Patrick (Robin) Rankin of Fernandina Beach, FL, sister Cheryl Rankin of Plain City, OH, nephews Eric (Jen) Rankin of Marysville, OH, Brett Rankin of Grove City, OH, and Cody (Alexandra) Rankin of Richmond, VA and dear friend Julie Orahood of Columbus.

Although Mike did not have children of his own, he was a devoted and generous uncle, providing love and support to his nieces and nephews, MacKenleigh ‘Montgomery” Greene, Mallereigh Rankin, Casen Rankin and Payton Rankin.

We will always carry fond and loving memories in our hearts.
