Marie Povse

Marie Povse of Columbus, OH died November 15th surrounded by family in the comfort of her home after a brief battle with cholangiocarcinoma (biliary cancer).  Born in Hartlepool, England, she finished school and began her working career in a printer’s office. She then moved to Ireland to work at a factory. It was in that factory she caught the attention of an American engineer, Frank Povse. They had their first date at Jackie Murphy’s pub, and were then married 47 years. Marie dedicated her life to lovingly raising her 7 children and 10 grandchildren. Marie was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, loved caring for her plants and flowers, always loved reading books, and watching her kids and grandkids playing their sports. She is preceded in death by her oldest sister, Teresa. She is survived by her sister Anne, her loving husband, Frank and their 7 children- Jacinta, Brian (Jessica), Tim (Lynn), Angela, Patrick (Dannielle), Molly, and Dan (Kyla), and 10 grandchildren- Charlotte (India), Christine, Anthony, Liam, Aiden, Parker, Landon, Addison, Leah, and Leo. Family will receive friends 12pm-2pm Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30am Monday, November 21, 2022 at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Covenant House or the charity of your choice.”
