Judith Ann “Judy” Thompson, age 86, of Carrington, North Dakota, formerly of Plain City, Ohio, met her Savior on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington. Born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Carl W. and Julia E. Bickham, she was a graduate of Columbus West High School, Class of 1956. Judy worked for many years in Ohio as a school bus driver for Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Dublin Schools. While living in Plain City, Judy was an active member of Indian Run United Methodist Church in Dublin. A talented crafts designer, she was instrumental in making the church’s Chrismon Christmas ornaments, served as Baptistry Chairman, and designed and produced the seasonal liturgical banners for the Sanctuary and Narthex. Along with her mother Judy Bickham, she was a member of Plain City’s Open Path Garden Club where she designed many award-winning flower arrangements and won numerous First Place ribbons and also “Best of Show” at the Madison County Fair.
Judy was appointed Director of the Pleasant Valley Senior Citizens in Plain City and later was named a Property Manager for Wallick Properties before retiring to Carrington in 2000. Together with her beloved husband Charlie, she enjoyed their new home and extensive yard in Carrington and was busy with her many crafts and garden. Judy had a natural “green thumb” and her flower beds were a mixture of traditional and exotic plants and flowers. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington. Judy suffered a debilitating stroke in 2017 and resided at Golden Acres Manor, being faithfully visited daily by Charlie. He dedicated himself to making sure she maintained a positive attitude and reminding her how much she was loved. Her passing has truly left a void.
