Francis "Fran" R. Simpson

Francis R. “Fran” Simpson, of Plain City, Ohio, died Saturday, February 27, 2021, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born March 14, 1938, in Streator, Illinois to the late Justin and Rita Simpson. He married Gloria A. (Spees) Simpson in Villa Park, IL on August 25, 1988. Fran graduated from Dwight Township High School, Class of 1956. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Alexander’s Church in Villa Park, IL, and St. Francis Catholic Church, North Fort Myers, FL. Fran was the owner/operator of Deckson Golf in Villa Park, IL, and Ft. Myers, FL. Fran passionately loved fishing and pub crawling. In addition to his wife Gloria, to whom he was married 33 years, Fran is survived by his children Teresa (Dan) Chervinko of Villa Park, IL, Steve (Fred Borer) Wills of London, OH, Jennie Sheldon of Dublin, OH, Mark (Christie) Simpson of Naperville, IL; his grandchildren Dan, Liz, Sarah, Cassie, Joe, Zoie, Hayden, Jack, Trevor; two great-grandchildren, nieces, and his brother-in-law John Wiedenman of Charleston, SC. In addition to his parents, Fran was preceded in death by his sister Jean Wiedenman, sons Rick Simpson and Gary Wills, and his son-in-law Greg Sheldon. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held for his family at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, PLAIN CITY-DUBLIN CHAPEL, 9720 SR 161, Plain City, OH 43064 (614)-733-0080 on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
