Elyse D Latella, 48, was born in Montclair New Jersey, currently of Hilliard Ohio, passed away after a very long battle with a rare Mitochondrial Disease. Elyse was born to Sandra D Latella (Thomas) and Frank Latella. She leaves behind her Father Frank Latella, Step Mother Beth Nall Latella, Mother Sandra D Thomas and Step Father George Thomas, brothers Jake Thomas, and Joey Thomas. Sisters- in- Law Allie Webster, and Jessica Thomas, Nephews Finn Thomas and Braden Thomas, Niece London Thomas as well as many cousins aunts and uncles.

Elyse was a graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School. She received her BA from the The Ohio State University where she graduated with Honors, was the Chair of Women's Affairs Student Government, Executive Director of The Ohio State Student Association, President of the Feminist Majority, Volunteered with the Ohio Domestic Violence Shelter, SARNCO, and received the Woman of the Year Award from the College of Liberal Arts, attended Harvard University in Boston for Young Writers Creative Writing Seminar during her Summer Semester, received her ABA Approved Paralegal certificate graduating with Honors from the University of San Diego CA, participated in an Internship for small size firm specializing in Education Administration and compliance with California Special Education Law, was a Diplomacy Candidate at Norwich University, Vermont. Elyse was an active, vibrant woman involved in Volunteer work and activities in addition to her educational pursuits and accomplishments, which included being a Mentor-Lady Butterflies in Columbus Ohio, volunteered with the Board of Directors at The Ohio Justice League, participated on the Fundraising Committee Women in Business, Women for Women International, Washington D.C., Anti war and Peace Initiative Washington D.C. as well as Fundraising for various political campaigns while in Washington D.C, San Diego CA, and Columbus Ohio.

Elyse's professional life included work for EECO, Emerson Network Power in Columbus, Oh, as a Senior Paralegal, National Geographic Washington DC as a Paralegal in Television and Film Dept, Corporate Administrator with Champions of the West All star Maintenance San Diego CA, and Corporate Paralegal in Legal Compliance for Brandes Investment Partners San Diego, CA. Elyse started her professional career with the Taubman Company as Corporate Paralegal/Legal Compliance at Tuttle Crossing Mall, Dublin Oh.

Calling hours will be Wednesday October 9th from 2-5pm, Tidd Funeral Home Plain City, OH. Burial on Thursday October 10th 2pm, Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City. The family suggest donations be made to the National Mitochondrial Association in lieu of flowers.
