Douglas A. Schrock of Plain City, Ohio, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, Team Dad, packaging sales professional, pastor, mentor, cherished friend to many, and dad-joke expert -- took an unexpected trip to his Forever Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Doug passed after suffering a sudden and severe heart attack while en route to officiate a wedding, with his wife of 30+ years, Nicole, at his side. He was 55 years old.
Born on January 4, 1970, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Richard and JoAnn Schrock, Doug lived a life characterized by service, faith, hospitality, and kindness that touched countless lives.
Doug was a graduate of Northwood High School and Taylor University, where he began forming the foundation for a life of impact. Throughout his multifaceted career as a packaging sales professional and pastor, Doug approached every interaction with dedication and heart.
Doug is survived by his wife Nicole (Aschliman) Schrock; his children Cole (Angela), Alec (Mikayla Ellis), Jace, and Piper; his parents Richard and JoAnn Schrock; and his brother Rodney (Michelle) Schrock. He also leaves behind numerous beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and father, mother, brothers, and sisters-in-law.
Doug's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith. His sudden departure leaves an unfillable void in our community, but his impact will continue to ripple through the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
